We are looking for a Senior Home and Gift Print Designer to join Team OB on a 10 – 12 month maternity cover contract.

As a Senior Home and Gift Print Designer at OB you will create and develop inspirational print design collections to be used right across all home and gift product categories.

Reporting to the Head of H&G Design you will collaborate with the Design team and wider Buying teams to develop and deliver concepts into print designs across home and gift. Working across a variety of designs and utilising your drawing and painting skills, you will successfully execute repeat print patterns, placement print ideas and personality motifs.

You will be talented, self motivated, passionate and organised and be able to influence and inspire the team through your work, sharing new ideas and designs that are brand appropriate and our customers will love.

OB is a fast paced environment so you will need to flexible and be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously to tight deadlines.

Our Support Office is based in Tolworth, near Chessington, only a 30-minute journey from London Waterloo. We offer hybrid working with a split of 3 days in the office and 2 days home working per week, and are open to having conversations about working flexibly.

An OB Senior Home and Gift Print Designer will:

  • Support the Head of H & G Design and the wider Design team in translating seasonal designs concepts into print designs
  • Design print ranges that respond to the business needs while still driving excitement and newness to the range
  • Take multiple briefs from the H&G Design team, using effective prioritisation skills to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Collaborate with H&G designers and work on other product categories if needed
  • Manage the product design development critical path for own area
  • Create fresh and authentic designs that have heart and depth and in line with the OB handwriting and that inspire and delight our customers
  • Ensure OB brand values are reflected in all areas of work from design through to production
  • Create colour palettes and work with the Head of H&G Design on seasonal colour themes
  • Identify new print ideas to be developed through authentic inspirational research
  • Professionally communicate via email and face to face with the Product Design, Buying and Merchandising teams, as well as external suppliers
  • Coordinate and communicate season design concepts to H&G buying, fellow designs members and marketing
  • Suggest and identify new areas to support growth of brand and increased profitability
  • Carry out regular competitor research to understand the market, staying ahead of the competition
  • Develop skills and strategies to keep motivation and inspiration high
