We are looking for a Finance Manager – Retail and Property to join Team OB in our Support Office.
As a Finance Manager at OB, you will report to the Head of FP&A creating analytics and uncover insights for the company using your own initiative to research and present the information back in an informative and engaging way. This role is an exciting mix of commercial finance, accounting, forecasting and systems giving you the ability to fully immerse yourself in the bricks and mortar part of the business, both in the UK and internationally. You will work hand in hand with our Retail, Property and People teams as well as have significant exposure to our directors.
Our Support Office is based in Tolworth, near Chessington, only a 30-minute journey from London Waterloo. We offer hybrid working with a split of 3 days in the office and 2 days home working per week, and are open to having conversations about working flexibly.

An OB Finance Manager – Retail and Property will:
- Oversee all sales reporting from Finance team, ensuring daily, weekly and monthly sales reporting is completed in a timely manner and accurately
- Oversee sales data flow and reconciliation process from POS to finance system
- Work alongside the Data team to develop retail reporting using newly implemented systems such as Tableau and Netsuite
- Oversee store reporting for Retail and lead development of commercial reporting in this area
- Oversee reporting on weekly staffing costs in stores, ensuring that both the Retail and People teams are regularly reviewing for staffing cost efficiencies
- Lead on all finance retail and operations projects identifying areas for improvement or savings, working alongside Regional Managers
- Work alongside Retail team enhancing P&L reporting and develop understanding of EBITDA for stores and Retail team
- Regularly visit stores to build relationships with teams and Area Managers and better understand business drivers and business challenges as well as educating Area Managers on key areas of Finance
- Oversee reporting of turnover figures to our landlords
- Manage the forecast and monthly reporting process for Retail and Visual Merchandising teams holding meetings with the Heads of Department to review their costs each month vs forecast
- Provide business partner support and write proposals to support Retail and Finance objectives
- Alongside Head of People, lead decision making and provide analysis and rationale regarding store management structures and remuneration
- Provide business partner support and useful analysis to People team to support new initiatives
- Work alongside People and Retail teams to ensure store salary costs remain within budgets and regularly review salaries as a percentage of sales driving Retail team to action where required
- Prepare analysis and lead from finance side on Christmas store staffing requirements
- Prepare month end reporting and variance commentary for store salaries
- Prepare financial modelling and report on the viability of new shop locations, relocations, closures and prepare tender documents when required, visiting new sites as needed
- Review and appraise performance of new shop locations and relocations, developing financial modelling methods from this
- Work with property team to control costs of shop fits and refurbishment programmes, tracking costs versus plan as projects develop
- Oversee business rates for the business working alongside external property surveyor to achieve best rates valuation possible for the business. Ensure any savings are properly recorded and accrued for
- Oversee rent month end, year end and forecast processes
- Oversee SDLT and property tax returns for UK & overseas, liaising with solicitors to agree figures
- Manage the forecast and monthly reporting process for Store Design and Facilities teams holding meetings with the Heads of Department to review their store related costs each month vs forecast

What we look for:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
- Experience in the management of senior level, non-finance stakeholders and be able to present financial data to both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Confident to challenge senior people on decisions when appropriate
- Experienced user of Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Experience using analytics tools such as Tableau desirable
- Competent user of finance and/or ERP systems
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised, with the ability to multi-task
- Self-motivated and able to work well to tight deadlines
- Proactive and able to work with minimal supervision
