We have an amazing opportunity for a Construction Project Manager to join Team OB in our Support Office on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

As a Construction Project Manager at OB, you will be a key member of the Store Design and Property team, working closely with the Head of Store Design in supervising, implementing, and coordinating the programme of new store and refurb construction projects.

All with the aim of delivering set projects within a target timeframe and budget, along with providing administrative support across purchasing and procurement. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, where you will be contributing ideas and working collaboratively with the wider business. You will be highly organised and able to work across multiple projects at one time, with strong attention to detail and a drive to ensure the highest standards are achieved.

Using your strong problem-solving and multitasking skills, you will calmly navigate the constantly changing environment of each construction project. From initial planning right through to construction on site and eventual handover to the Retail team, you will be involved in all stages of the construction project.

Our Support Office is based in Tolworth, near Chessington, only a 30-minute journey from London Waterloo. We are working a 50/50 split of office and home working.

More about the role …

OB’s Construction Project Manager will:

• Design and implement the cost tendering process to ensure Oliver Bonas is engaging with cost-effective operators

• Develop pricing schedules to forecast budgets for future projects accurately

• Plan projects, scheduling, and coordination

• Compile, manage, and adequately supervise the budget for all approved projects

• Research and collate information about licenses, planning applications and permits for all upcoming projects

• Manage client direct sub-contractors and suppliers including pricing, orders, coordination with main contractors, scheduling, delivery etc.

• Communicate project progress, status and costs in a regular and timely fashion

• Resolve on-site issues or problems involving material or fixture delivery and contract administration

• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation ensuring all O&M and CDM information is stored and distributed effectively

• Liaise with external stakeholders(shopping centres, Travel hubs etc) to ensure project completion processes are followed and documentation provided

• Facilitate meetings with key persons and collaborate with project teams to ensure timely decision-making.

• Managing multiple current projects at different levels of completion/status

What we look for:

• Prior relevant commercial experience in a construction or related field

• Organised, efficient and responsive

• Analytical approach, comfortable working with numbers and data

• Critical thinking and decision-making skills

• Attention to detail.

• Enthusiastic, self-confident and self-motivated.

• Good negotiations and presentation skills with the ability to influence others

• Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal at all levels, both within the company and externally

• Time management and a clear ability to prioritise

• Technical construction knowledge

• Microsoft office suite & relevant Project management software proficiency

• A Degree or equivalent qualification in an associated field i.e Construction Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering would be beneficial.
