We are looking for a Fashion Design Intern to join Team OB in our Support Office on a 12 month fixed term contract.
As a Fashion Design Intern at OB you will be responsible for providing admin support to the
Design team, assisting the team to create inspirational womenswear collection that is exciting, unique and in line with the brand brief.
Reporting to the Fashion Designer, you will work on projects from initial concept through to completion using your practical skills to support both your imagination and visualisation. You will work collaboratively with the Design team as well as the Clothing Buyer and Merchandiser, in supporting delivering an authentic and inspirational collection.
Our Support Office is based in Tolworth, near Chessington, only a 30-minute journey from London Waterloo. We offer hybrid working with a split of 3 days in the office and 2 days home working per week, and are open to having conversations about working flexibly.

An OB Fashion Design Intern will:
- Create CADs for the womenswear collection, presenting a clear overview of the range for monthly reviews between the Buying and Design team
- Send out design and technical packs to suppliers, communicating any new developments to the Design and Buying teams
- Work with the Designer and Buyer to prepare for product reviews and sign off meetings
- Manage the office space, supplies, fabrics and samples within the Design team
- Implementing new processes where appropriate to improve office productivity to support the design team
- Postal logistics within the design team
- Filing and organising files on the server within the Design team
- Allocate and manage style numbers for all designs
- Manage and track costs for all purchased samples
- Assist in diary management and organising regular meetings across departments
- Sample management, ensuring first samples are correctly stored and prepared for sign off meetings
- Supporting the Design team in creating a clothing collection from concept through to production, developing the range collaboratively alongside the Design and Buying teams
- Support and assist the design team sourcing and researching fabric that are in line with the
- Support in Conducting trend research in line with the brand brief and OB customer research
- Ensure the OB brand values are reflected in all areas of work from design development to production
- Support during critical meetings by taking notes, printing documents and organising samples
- Work closely with our supplier base to understand and develop capability
- Carry out sourcing and attending inspirational store visits, feeding back to teams and business to inspire others through weekly and seasonal trend reports

What we look for:
- Have or working towards a Fashion BA Hons or equivalent
- The ability to connect with OB brand identity and an understanding of the OB handwriting
- Good eye for colour, pattern and detail
- Desire to continually learn and develop knowledge and skills
- A fun and flexible approach to how you work
- Ambition to be part of a dynamic design team and create a market defining brand
- Some technical knowledge of womenswear clothing
- Excellent drawing skills and technical drawing ability
- Knowledge of construction and manufacturing processes
- Expert computer skills including CAD, Adobe Suite, Photoshop, and Illustrator
- Big ideas and a strong conceptual imagination
- Confident communicator
