We have an amazing opportunity for a Quality Control Assistant to join Team OB in our Warehouse. The shift pattern for this role is Monday to Friday 8:00am-4:00pm.

As the Quality Control Assistant, you will be responsible for processing stock that has been returned from the stores that is damaged and potentially faulty. You will have the responsibility of redistributing these items to the appropriate quarantine locations, back to stores or back into the web stock, where possible.

You will be communicating and collaborating with several departments across the business, particularly the Customer Services and Quality Control teams, to ensure return issues are being analysed and spare parts requests are carried out. You will be overseeing and assessing damaged stock, deciding what can be refurbished, managing stock that needs to be written off and looking for manufacturing issues that need escalating to the QC/Technical team. You will assist in carrying out product recalls across the business ensuring that a smooth operation is carried out.

Our Support Office is based in Tolworth, near Chessington, only a 30-minute journey from London Waterloo.

A Quality Control Assistant for OB will:

  • Receive faulty and/or damaged stock back from our store, Returns, Warehouse and Web Fulfilment teams, and complete the quality control procedure for damaged stock to ensure that all resalable items are accurately moved back to pick locations.
  • Review returned stock to determine if products are suitable to be sold as Store Only stock. Liaise with others in the QC team for the allocation of the stock. Pack and liaise with the Warehouse Team Leaders and Stock Control to send the items to Stores.
  • Liaise with others in the QC team for details of product recalls taking place. Receive the recalled stock while ensuring stock levels are accurate for QC reporting.
  • Follow up with stores with regards to outstanding stock and report progress.
  • Assist in returning faulty stock to suppliers.
  • Highlight any potential quality issues and stock that has surpassed acceptable limits and escalate this to the Quality Controller & Returns Analyst. Collate feedback and findings, to be given in tech meetings.
  • Liaise with the Quality Controller & Returns Analyst to monitor and hold faulty products, if we have identified a potential claim, whilst ensuring stock levels are recorded accurately.
  • Communicate with the Quality Controller & Returns Analyst to move stock to the appropriate avenues once credit is received and assist in sending stock back to the supplier.
  • Communicate with Customer Services and stores to fulfil the spare parts they request. Stock take the spare parts and liaise with the Buying teams and QC to order more when needed.

What we look for:

  • Must be conscientious.
  • Must be comfortable working with handheld scanners and in-house warehouse systems.
  • Experience using Excel would be beneficial.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure and to set KPI’s.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Experience working in a team environment as well as being able to work on your own initiative.
  • Focus on diligence and accuracy.
  • Happy to work on different shift rotas.
  • Ability to perform the same task on a daily basis while striving to maintain a high standard at all times
