We are looking for a Head of Financial Planning & Analysis on a 12 month maternity cover contract to join Team OB in our Support Office.
As a Head of Financial Planning & Analysis at OB you will provide senior finance leadership and develop a high-performing commercial team here at Oliver Bonas. Reporting into the Finance Director, this role will lead planning, forecasting, reporting and commercial insight, supporting executive decision making and driving performance.
This will be a very hands on interim role, and suit someone who is delivery focused with experience across multi-site operations and with supply chain experience (eg warehousing, distribution, logistics). It will require strong business partnering skills, excellent organisation and the ability to lead and motivate a newly formed FP&A team.
Our support Office is based in Tolworth, near Chessington, only a 30-minute journey from London Waterloo. We offer hybrid working with a split of 3 days in the office and 2 days home working per week, and are open to having conversations about working flexibly.

An OB Head of Financial Planning and Analysis will:
- Lead the annual budget process from timetabling to completion, and any periodic reforecasting.
- Own the end to end P&L forecast, with clear assumptions, risks and sensitivities.
- Deliver scenario modelling and actionable insight to support trading and strategic decisions.
- Partner with Merchandising, Ecommerce and Retail teams on sales and margin forecasting across channels.
- Oversee weekly and monthly financial performance reporting, ensuring outputs are timely, accurate and decision useful.
- Work with the Finance Director to develop monthly and quarterly leadership team reporting and analysis packs
- Produce insightful reporting and analysis for the Leadership Team, including margin performance, productivity metrics and trend analysis.
- Challenge business assumptions and provide clear, fact based recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Provide finance leadership on commercial proposals and investment cases, including new channels, stores, refits and operational change.
- Lead on commercial review of current business spend and activities
- Act as a trusted advisor to the Finance Director, COO and Leadership Team, responding to ad hoc analysis requests as required.
- Strengthen forecasting, reporting and modelling processes, improving efficiency, controls and documentation.
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting and accelerate insight through improved systems, analytics and AI.
- Ensure forecasting and reporting outputs are robust and fit for purpose.
- Line manage the FP&A team (including Finance Manager – Retail & Property and Finance Business Partner – Ecommerce & Supply Chain), setting clear objectives and developing their full potential through coaching and mentoring
- Build effective cross functional relationships across Retail, Property, Ecommerce and Operations.

What we look for:
- Proven experience in a senior FP&A or commercial finance role within retail or multi site environments.
- Strong interim track record, with the ability to deliver quickly and pragmatically.
- Excellent commercial judgement, influencing skills and stakeholder presence.
- Advanced financial modelling, forecasting and performance analysis capability.
- Experience improving processes, controls and systems within finance functions.
