We have an amazing opportunity for an Assistant Warehouse & Logistics Manager to join Team OB in our Chessington Warehouse.

As an Assistant Warehouse & Logistics Manager at OB, you will support the Head of Warehouse & Logistics to ensure the warehouse operation runs smoothly by overseeing the goods in, put away, replenishment, stock control, picking and logistics teams.

Working closely with the warehouse Team Leaders, you will coach and develop to lead and manage their teams effectively.

You will have a strong presence throughout the warehouse area ensuring that all stock is received, picked, packed, and delivered in accordance with our store delivery schedule, standard operating procedures and the warehouse housekeeping standards

As Assistant Warehouse & Logistics Manager, you will lead projects to improve warehouse and logistics processes and systems, working collaboratively with a variety of Support Office and Retail teams while doing so.


Our Support Office & Warehouse are based in Tolworth, near Chessington, only a 30-minute journey from London Waterloo.

More about the role …

OB’s Assistant Warehouse & Logistics Manager will:

• Work with the Team Leaders to ensure they are equipped to lead and motivate their teams

• Lead on weekly Team Leader meetings share business updates, operational requirements, as well as new operational requirements in a motivating, engaging and positive way.

• Recognise your team and celebrate team wins together

• Oversee cross-training needs and work with the Team Leaders in all parts of the warehouse to identify opportunities for development.

• Instil high housekeeping standards and hold team members accountable to maintain these

• Ensure the warehouse health and safety requirements are met and that all records are kept up to date.

• Attend meetings, presentations and people-related meetings in place of the Head of Warehouse & Logistics as needed

• Support Team Leaders in resource planning for peak periods and support with the recruitment

• Ensure that progress chats and appraisals with team leaders are delivered to maximize training opportunities, address concerns, and contribute to their growth and leadership development.

• Support Team Leaders to manage Team Member performance and behavioural issues, seeking support from the People team to resolve them when needed

• Drive process improvements across all warehouse teams, and identify ways to be more efficient and effective with safety, compliance and productivity in mind

• Review KPIs daily to monitor warehouse and logistics performance, and also evaluate workloads across departments to ensure that resource is deployed to the right area based on business priority

• Build and maintain strong relationships with OB’s supplier base to ensure we receive the highest service levels
