We are looking for a Merchandising Administrative Assistant (MAA) for Home and Gift to join Team OB in our Support Office. This role will work on our gifting products such as beauty, travel, cards, books and packaging.

As an MAA at OB, you will be responsible for maximising sales through allocating and ensuring stock levels are maintained in line with store capacity and option levels.

Providing support to the Merchandiser and wider team, you provide sales analysis and admin support as well as carrying out stock allocation and supply chain coordination.

Our Support Office is based in Tolworth, near Chessington, only a 30-minute journey from London Waterloo. We offer hybrid working with a split of 3 days in the office and 2 days home working per week, and are open to having conversations about working flexibly.

OB’s MAAs will:

  • Set up allocation plans accurately ensuring store minimums are correct and there is enough stock to fulfil the requirement
  • Utilise system functions to manage stock levels effectively– for example increasing/decreasing stock minimums and targets
  • Completing weekly optimisations for the department – using the stock movement process to maximise sales and reduce risk
  • Manage warehouse stock appropriately including the Returns stock pot
  • Timely and accurate allocation of stock to new and fitted stores, monitor stock levels during build and sales once trading to ensure the correct mix of stock
  • Review and understand weekly trade information, offering suggestions on where to make improvements
  • Provide analysis for store grading and profiles, understanding the differences between departments and customers
  • Pick up on trends to identify potential and generate action plans to present any proposals to your Merchandiser
  • Liaise with suppliers and freight forwarders to make sure the correct quantity is delivered on time, ensuring booking cut offs are not missed
  • Ensure delivery dates are maintained by attending critical path/shipping meetings and following up with suppliers if there is any risk to agreed delivery dates

What we look for:

  • Previous administrative experience is advantageous
  • Willingness to learn and develop to build a knowledge and understanding of merchandising
  • Experience working in retail with a genuine interest and passion for the industry
  • IT literate with Microsoft Office skills – Word / Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Prioritisation and time management skills
