We are looking for a Payroll & Systems Specialist to join Team OB in our Support Office.
As a Payroll & Systems Specialist you will have an exciting opportunity to join our People team, where you will play an integral role in providing payroll and systems support to all our OB teams.
Reporting to the Senior Payroll & Reward Manager, you will work closely with the People Advisors and People Administrators in contributing to both payroll and system related projects, developing your existing payroll knowledge and expertise in this area.
Our Support Office is based in Tolworth, near Chessington, only a 30-minute journey from London Waterloo. We offer hybrid working with a split of 3 days in the office and 2 days home working per week and are open to having conversations about working flexibly.

An OB Payroll & Systems Specialist will:
- Support the Senior Payroll & Reward Manager with monthly payroll inputs, validations, and checks to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Manage the end-to-end leaver process, including calculating final payments and issuing leaver emails
- Provide support to managers and team members in using the HR system effectively
- Create and maintain reports within the HR system to support Payroll, Finance, and People team requirements
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the HR system, becoming the team’s subject matter expert and first point of contact for system queries
- Manage the Payroll and pensions inbox, responding promptly and accurately to employee queries
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR system records and personnel files at all times
- Advise managers and employees on payroll-related matters in line with company policies, escalating to the Senior Payroll & Reward Manager when required
- Ensure all payroll and HR system user guides are accurate, current, and regularly reviewed
- Set up and maintain payroll allowances and deductions
- Review weekly timesheets to ensure accurate coding of hours worked
- Calculate one-off payments and statutory payments in line with current legislation
- Produce weekly timesheet reports for the Finance team
- Calculate and process maternity, paternity, and adoption pay, providing guidance and support where required
- Complete statutory forms such as SSP1 and SMP1 accurately and within required timeframes
- Prepare monthly and ad-hoc payroll and HR reports as required
- Deputise for the Senior Payroll & Reward Manager during periods of absence
- Provide support to the People Advisor team and People Administrator as needed
- Review payroll administration and HR system processes, identifying efficiencies and recommending improvements
- Coordinate and support seasonal payroll activities and wider People team projects
- Assist with ad hoc administrative duties across the department as required

What we look for:
- Previous payroll experience
- PeopleXD/Access knowledge desirable but not essential
- Strong administration and organisational skills
- High attention to numerical detail
- Methodical in approach
- Able to work towards tight deadlines whilst keeping calm
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Discreet and confidential
- Able to build strong working relationships across teams
- Interest in procedures and processes
