We are looking for an Area Manager to join Team OB covering Chichester, Winchester, Exeter, Farnham, Southampton, Plymouth, Guildford, Horsham, Reigate

As an Area Manager at OB you will be responsible for the smooth operation and profitability of an area of stores, leading and inspiring their teams to be the best they can be.

You will aim to maximise sales and store performance by focusing on exceptional customer service, operational standards and enhancing the OB brand image.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will work in collaboration to analyse all commercial information to help drive the performance of stores and teams, providing action plans and regular progress updates to senior management.

An OB Area Manager will:

  • Meet and exceed sales forecasts, taking steps to positively increase store profitability
  • Analyse all commercial information available, to support the store teams overall commercial understanding, as well as driving performance through action planning
  • Ensure all controllable costs are effectively managed, ensuring all expenditure is necessary and justified
  • Monitor current retail trends and competitor activity, highlighting and reacting as appropriate
  • Understand business context to promote company initiatives to maximise sales opportunities. Gain insight and understanding to feedback to relevant stakeholders
  • Communicate regularly with the Retail team, circulating best practice ideas and lessons learnt, to improve the overall business performance
  • Support the retail strategy to achieve business goals and drive EBITDA
  • Observe and feedback on customer service levels, in order to uphold OB service and culture expectations
  • Ensure OBs operational, shrinkage, security and Health and Safety standards are met
  • Conduct regular store visits providing constructive feedback to the store management teams and confirm any follow up actions
  • Build strong and professional relationships with Store teams providing leadership, guidance and support
  • Motivate and inspire your team, encouraging and recognising outstanding team performance and addressing any performance concerns in a timely way
  • Succession plan to support the growth and development of your teams and the business

  • Strong commercial understanding
  • Previous experience driving the customer service experience
